United Kingdom Visa Requirements for all citizens, not just U.S:
Some citizens of the U.S. do require a UK Visa
To find out if you need a visa, click on "Do I need a UK visa?," answer the 3 questions at the bottom of the page, and then click on "Find out."
If you do require a visa, the site will answer all of your questions (i.e., what documents do I need to apply for the visa, etc.)
The site will then direct you to apply online. All persons needing a UK Visa must apply for and pay for the visa online. Click here to apply online. Note: AOL users may have to type in the URL themselves. That URL is: http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/
Go ahead and apply and pay for your visa online and then print out your application. NOTE: Many people forget to sign the application because the signature page is on the 5th page of a 7-page application. Please remember to go to page 5 and sign your application. It will save you a lot of time and trouble.
At the beginning of the application process, you will notice that the site will ask you to enter a password for your application/appointment. The appointment is to go in and be fingerprinted. Allpersons applying for a UK Visa must make an appointment to personally make an appearance to be fingerprinted. It is known as biometric data. You will be shown a chart listing several Chicagoland locations you can go to and a list of available appointment dates and times.
Once you have submitted your biometric data (fingerprints), you can then send Bucktown Visas & Passports, Inc. your passport and supporting documents and evidence that the UK website stated you need to obtain your visa. We will submit them for you at the UK Consulate, and we will then pick up your completed visa once it has been processed.
Please ship all of the supporting documents and evidence that the UK Consulate required from you on their website (i.e., application, card proving that you were fingerprinted, valid passport, etc.) via FedEx to Bucktown Visas & Passports, Inc. at the address on the top of our UK Visa Order Form, making certain that your passport and your Visa application are signed.
Also, please make sure that you enclose a copy of our UK Visa Order Form (with your payment or credit card information enclosed ) with all of your other documents. Click on "Visas/Passport Order Form" on our menu or click here.
We will email you as soon as we receive your documents, and we will email you again when we process them and ship them back to you.
