**Effective March 1, 2010, we will no longer be able to process rush visas for Brazil.  We will need to know at least 13 days in advance of your needing a visa.**

Brazil Tourist & Business Visa Requirements for U.S. citizens:

**Consular jurisdiction applies for Visas for Brazil, which means that from our location in Chicago we can only process tourist and business Brazilian Visas for the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Brazil Business Visa Requirements:
  • Eligibility

If the assignment involves the provision of technical cooperation among companies of the same conglomerate, of any kind of technical assistance, of training/teaching, or of transference of know-how, a Temporary Type-V Visa is mandatory and has to be applied to the Brazilian Labor Ministry by the Brazilian institution or company.

  • Your valid, signed passport

It must be valid for 6 months beyond your stay and have at least 2 blank visa pages inside of it.

  • 1 Brazil Visa application form
**This must be completed online.  Please click here or go to our "Visa Services" page to fill out an application. 
1) Complete all of the required spaces, then click "SEND," and you will receive a processing number. 
2) Then please print out the application, attach your photo to it, and sign the form.     
  • 1 passport photo, 2 x 2 inches in size with full, front view of your face, on a light or white background

  • Proof of travel departure date

A computer-generated flight itinerary from the travel agent.

  • A copy of your driver's license, state ID card, or a utility bill to prove residence in the Midwest

  • Business letter on U.S. company's letterhead

A letter from the applicant's United States employer, on its letterhead, notarized and signed by senior management or superior informing: a) job position, b) job description, c) purpose(s) and description of the applicant's intended activities during the trip, providing details such as dates, places, contacts, and end-purpose of the trip (sales, purchases, coordination, auditing, etc), d) duration of the trip.  Information on periodicity, average length and assignment description of future trips, if any, e) financial responsibility for the trip.

  • Company invitation letter from Brazilian company

A letter (it can be faxed to the applicant - never to the Consulate) from the Brazilian company/organization that is inviting or will be contacted by the applicant, on its letterhead and signed by the management in charge of the area that the applicant intends to be in contact with, informing: a) job position and job description of the contact person in Brazil, b) assignment description and information about the end-purpose of the intended activities in Brazil (sales, purchases, coordination, auditing, etc), c) date(s) and place(s) of the meeting(s) and information on periodicity, average length and assignment description of future trips, if any, d) financial responsibility for the trip, if applicable.

  • Consular fees (nonrefundable)

  • Consulate General Rules

1)  The Consulate at its own discretion determines the type and the length of validity of each visa.
2)  Visa holders are not allowed to engage in any activity under employment contract or not with any Brazilian company or organization.
3)  Brazilian visas must initially be used within 90 days of the issuance date.  If the initial date of entry in Brazil is beyond the 90-day period, a new visa is required.
4)  The requirements listed herein should not in any way be considered all-inclusive or exhaustive.  The Consulate may ask for additional documentation at its own discretion.

  • Immunization

An international certificate of anti-yellow fever vaccine is required if the applicant has visited or will visit a country in Africa or South America (except Chile and the following Mercosur companies: Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay) in the 90 days prior to entering Brazil.

Please ship the following documents via FedEx to Bucktown Visas & Passports, Inc. at the address on the top of our order form:
  1. Your valid, signed passport
  2. 1 printed Brazil Visa application form, (1 must be filled out and submitted online; also print one out), signed. 
  3. 1 passport photo
  4. Proof of travel departure date
  5. Business letter on U.S. company letterhead (must be notarized; see above)
  6. Company invitation letter from Brazilian company
  7. Your Consular fees (see our Visa Order Form for fees and types of payment)
  8. Immunization certificate, if required
  9. Bucktown Visa Order Form
  10. Your Bucktown expediting and return shipping fees (They are located on our order form and are in addition to your Consular fees).

We will email you as soon as we receive your documents, and we will email you again when we process them and ship them back to you.
